About Moldavite:
This famous type of Tektite that was formed by the impact of a meteorite about 15 million years ago.Moldavite comes from particular areas along the rise and Steinem craters in Germany. The meteorite broke into pieces across Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. Most of the moldavite solidified into the air before impact but a portion of it fell in the southern area of the Czech Republic. It was introduced to the scientific community in 1786 and later was confirmed that the composition is very similar to that of a meteor specimen. There is only a limited number of moldavite found, making it the ultimate limited edition gemstone.Also unlike other tektites that have more of a black or brown appearance Moldavite radiates a light to dark green colour making it a rare variety of tektite.
